Plumbing Repair Services in St. Louis

Water goes where it wants. Our job is to make it go where it's supposed to. Whether you've got a dripping faucet that's been bugging you for six months or a pipe that just let go in your basement, we handle plumbing repairs across the entire St. Louis metro — from Florissant to Fenton, South County to St. Charles.

We're not a plumbing company that charges you $150 just to show up. We're a handyman service that does plumbing right. That means we fix what's broken, replace what's worn out, and tell you the truth about what you actually need. No upselling, no scare tactics, no "well, while we're here you should also..."

Plumbing Repairs Across the St. Louis Metro

Uncle Phil's provides plumbing repairs throughout the greater St. Louis area. Here are some of the communities we serve most often:

What We Fix

Here's the short version: if water comes in, goes out, or gets heated in your house, we can probably fix it. Here's the longer version:

Leak Repair

Dripping faucets, leaking supply lines, sweating pipes, toilet base leaks, and those mystery puddles that show up under the sink. We track it down and fix it — not just slap some tape on it.

Drain Clearing

Kitchen sinks that drain slow, bathroom sinks clogged with years of toothpaste and hair, tub drains that won't budge. We clear the line and check for bigger problems downstream.

Pipe Replacement

A lot of St. Louis homes — especially those 1950s and 60s brick ranches in South County and Lemay — still have galvanized pipes. When they corrode through or burst during a January cold snap, we replace sections or repipe as needed.

Fixture Installation

New faucet? New toilet? We install kitchen and bath fixtures and make sure the shutoff valves, supply lines, and drain connections are all solid. We also swap out old shower heads, install hand-held sprayers, and replace those ancient two-handle setups.

Water Heater Basics

We handle water heater maintenance — flushing sediment, replacing anode rods, swapping T&P valves, and thermostat adjustments. If your water heater needs a full replacement, we'll tell you honestly and can recommend a licensed plumber for the gas work.

Garbage Disposals

Jammed, leaking, or just dead — we replace garbage disposals and can usually have a new one running the same day. We carry common models on the truck so you don't have to wait on a parts order.

Common Problems We Fix

These are the calls we get every week. If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

"My kitchen faucet drips all night."

Usually a worn cartridge or O-ring. Takes about 30 minutes to fix and saves you $20–30 a month on your water bill. Don't let it go — that constant drip adds up fast, and in St. Louis with MSD rates climbing every year, you're literally pouring money down the drain.

"The toilet runs constantly."

Nine times out of ten, it's the flapper. Sometimes it's the fill valve. Either way, it's a quick fix. A running toilet can waste 200 gallons a day. That's not a typo.

"We have no hot water."

Could be a tripped breaker (electric), a pilot light that went out (gas), or sediment buildup in the tank. We diagnose it on-site. If it's something we can fix, we fix it. If the unit is 15 years old and on its last legs, we'll tell you that too.

"There's a wet spot on my ceiling."

Upstairs bathroom leak — usually a wax ring on the toilet, a failed supply line, or a tub drain that's pulled away from the pipe. We open it up, find the source, and fix the plumbing. Drywall repair is extra, but we do that too.

"Pipes froze last winter."

St. Louis winters are no joke. When it drops below zero — and it does, every year — exposed pipes in crawl spaces and exterior walls freeze and crack. We replace burst sections and can add insulation to prevent it from happening again next January.

Why Homeowners Call Us Instead of a Plumber

Licensed plumbers are great for big jobs — sewer lines, whole-house repipes, gas work. But for everyday plumbing repairs? You don't need to pay $150 for a service call before anyone even picks up a wrench. We charge fairly, show up on time, and fix the problem.

Plumbing FAQ

Do you do plumbing work without a license?
We handle repairs and replacements within handyman scope: faucets, toilets, supply lines, drain clearing, garbage disposals, and basic water heater connections. Work requiring a licensed plumber (gas lines, main sewer, new rough-in) gets referred to a trusted licensed plumber.
Can a handyman replace a water heater?
Yes, in most cases. We can swap out a tank water heater — disconnect, remove, install new unit, reconnect supply and discharge lines. If your home has a gas line connection that needs new fittings or a permit is required in your municipality, we'll advise you upfront.
How much does it cost to install a new faucet?
Faucet installation at Uncle Phil's typically runs $75–$125 for a standard kitchen or bathroom faucet when you supply the fixture. If we need to supply the faucet, add $50–$200 depending on the model. We quote before we start — no surprises.
What should I do if I have an active water leak right now?
Shut off the water at the nearest shutoff valve (under the sink, behind the toilet, or at the main) and call us at (636) 896-PHIL. During business hours we do our best to get there same day. After hours, leave the water off and call us first thing in the morning.
Do you clear clogged drains?
Yes. We handle sink, tub, and floor drain clogs using hand augers and drain snakes. For main line stoppages or roots in the sewer line, we'll refer you to a drain company with a camera truck — that's beyond handyman scope.
Can you install a new faucet I already bought?
Absolutely. Bring your own fixture and we'll install it. Just make sure it fits your sink — check the number of holes (1, 2, 3, or 4) and the spacing. If you're not sure, send us a photo and we'll confirm before your appointment.
How much does a typical plumbing repair cost?
Most repairs fall between $75 and $300. A faucet cartridge replacement runs about $75 to $125. A toilet rebuild is usually $100 to $150. Garbage disposal replacement runs $175 to $350 depending on the unit. We always quote before we start.
Do you handle emergency plumbing?
We're not a 24/7 emergency service, but if you've got an active leak during business hours, call us and we'll do our best to get there the same day. For after-hours emergencies, shut off the water at the main valve (usually in your basement near the front of the house) and call us first thing in the morning.
How do I shut off my water in an emergency?
Find your main shutoff valve — in most St. Louis homes, it's in the basement on the front wall of the house, near the water meter. Turn the valve clockwise until it stops. If the valve is stuck or corroded, don't force it — you could break the pipe. Call us and we'll walk you through it.
