Fixture Installation Services in St. Louis

You bought the new faucet. The ceiling fan is still in the box. The TV mount has been sitting in the garage for three weeks. The towel bar came with instructions that might as well be in another language. We get it — installing fixtures seems simple until you're standing in a puddle of water or holding a 65-inch TV against a wall wondering if those drywall anchors are really going to hold.

We install fixtures the right way — securely, level, and working properly when we leave. Across the St. Louis metro, from Ballwin to Belleville, we handle everything from a simple towel bar to a full smart home device setup. You buy it, we install it. Or we supply and install — your choice.

What We Install

If it mounts to a wall, connects to plumbing, or wires into your electrical, we install it. Here's the lineup:

Faucets & Plumbing Fixtures

Kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, shower heads, hand-held sprayers, soap dispensers, and pot fillers. We disconnect the old one, connect the new one, check for leaks, and clean up. We also replace supply lines and shutoff valves when they're corroded — which they often are in older St. Louis homes. Better to catch it now than when it bursts.

Light Fixtures

Chandeliers, pendants, flush mounts, semi-flush mounts, vanity lights, sconces, under-cabinet lights, and outdoor fixtures. We handle the wiring, the mounting, and make sure everything is level and secure. Heavy fixtures like chandeliers get proper ceiling support — not just the existing box if it isn't rated for the weight.

Ceiling Fans

New fan installations, replacements, and adding fan-rated boxes where they're needed. We balance the blades, set up the remote or wall control, and make sure it runs smoothly on all speeds. In St. Louis, a good ceiling fan is worth its weight in gold during July and August — it can make a room feel 4–6 degrees cooler without touching the thermostat.

Towel Bars & Bath Accessories

Towel bars, towel rings, robe hooks, toilet paper holders, soap dishes, and grab bars. The trick is anchoring into studs when possible and using proper anchors when you can't. That towel bar that ripped out of the wall? It was probably installed with the little plastic anchors that came in the box. We use toggle bolts or hit studs. It stays put.

TV Mounting

Wall-mounted TVs — flat mount, tilting, full-motion, and above-fireplace mounts. We find the studs, drill the right holes, mount the bracket, hang the TV, and route the cables. We can run cables through the wall for a clean look or use a cord cover if you prefer not to cut into the drywall. Your $2,000 TV gets mounted with $2,000 worth of care.

Smart Home Devices

Smart thermostats (Nest, Ecobee), smart doorbells (Ring, Nest), smart locks, smart light switches, and whole-home smart plugs. We handle the physical installation and the initial WiFi setup. If your existing wiring doesn't have a C-wire for the thermostat, we can run one or install an adapter. We make sure it works before we leave.

Common Problems We Fix

DIY fixture installations go sideways more often than you'd think. Here's what we see:

"The towel bar keeps pulling out of the wall."

This is the single most common fixture call we get. The original installer used the cheap plastic anchors that came in the box, and wet towels are heavier than people think. We patch the old holes, move to a stud location if possible, or install proper toggle bolts. It won't come out again.

"I bought a new faucet but can't get the old one off."

Old faucet nuts corrode in place, especially in St. Louis where the water is hard. The space under the sink is cramped, the basin wrench doesn't fit, and you've been lying on your back for two hours. We have the tools and the experience — including a reciprocating saw for the truly stuck ones. We'll have the old one out and the new one running in under an hour.

"My ceiling fan wobbles and makes noise."

Usually caused by unbalanced blades, a loose mounting bracket, or an electrical box that isn't fan-rated (it's flexing under the weight). We check all three, balance the blades with a kit, tighten the connections, and replace the box if needed. A properly installed fan should be nearly silent.

"I want to mount my TV but I'm not sure the wall can hold it."

Most walls can hold a TV if you hit the studs. Drywall alone can't support anything heavier than about 15 pounds — and your 65-inch TV weighs 50+. We use a stud finder (the real kind, not the phone app), verify with a probe, and mount into solid wood framing. For stone or brick fireplaces, we use concrete anchors rated for the weight.

"My smart thermostat won't work with my HVAC system."

Most smart thermostats need a common wire (C-wire) for power. Many older St. Louis homes only have 4-wire thermostat cables with no C-wire. We can run a new cable, use a power adapter kit, or repurpose an unused wire. We also make sure the thermostat is programmed for your specific system — heat pump, forced air, or radiator.

Why Pay for Installation?

We know what you're thinking: "It's just a faucet. How hard can it be?" The answer is: not hard at all if you've done it 500 times. But if it's your first time, you're looking at a trip to the hardware store for a tool you'll use once, two hours under the sink, and a 50/50 chance you'll strip a fitting or end up with a leak. We do this every day.

Right the First Time

No leaks, no wobbles, no stripped bolts. Installed correctly and tested before we leave.

Fixture Installation FAQ

How much does it cost to install a faucet?

Kitchen faucet installation runs $100–$175. Bathroom faucet installation is $85–$150. These prices are for labor only — you supply the faucet. If the shutoff valves or supply lines need replacing (common in older homes), that's an additional $50–$100 in parts and labor.

Can I supply my own fixtures?

Absolutely. Most of our customers buy their own fixtures from Home Depot, Lowe's, Wayfair, or Amazon and just need someone to install them. Just make sure you have all the parts — check the box before your appointment. If something's missing, we don't want to reschedule over a $3 connector.

How long does a TV mounting take?

A basic TV mount (drilling into studs, mounting bracket, hanging TV) takes about 45 minutes to an hour. If you want cables run through the wall, add another 30–45 minutes. Above-fireplace mounts on brick or stone take longer — about 1.5–2 hours due to the masonry drilling.

Do you install grab bars?

Yes, and we take them seriously. Grab bars need to hold 250+ pounds of sudden force, which means they go into studs — no exceptions. If the stud isn't where you want the bar, we use blocking behind the drywall. We install ADA-compliant grab bars for showers, tubs, and next to toilets. They can look good and be functional.

Can you install a ceiling fan where there isn't one?

If there's an existing light fixture, we can usually convert it to a ceiling fan — we just need to swap the electrical box for a fan-rated one. If there's no fixture at all, we can run wiring from the nearest circuit, but that's a bigger job. We'll assess the ceiling access and give you a clear quote. See our electrical services page for more details.

What smart home devices do you install?

Smart thermostats (Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell), video doorbells (Ring, Nest, Arlo), smart locks (Schlage, August, Yale), smart switches and dimmers (Lutron, TP-Link), and smart plugs. We handle the physical installation and basic WiFi/app setup. For whole-home automation systems, we'll refer you to a specialist.
